The Executive Board leads the way for the decision-making process of The Banquet.
Below is a list of our board members who help make The Banquet successful.

Jim Barnhardt, Chairman

Business Owner - J & R Vacuum & Sewing

Jim is married to his wife Cindy and has 2 grown daughters. He is a lifelong resident of the Bismarck-Mandan area. He has served on the Board for 5 years and as the Chairman for 4 years. Jim is semi-retired and focuses on volunteering, especially in the area of serving the low income and marginalized people of our community. Jim operates the Adopt-a-Block program in town collecting food from grocery stores and Great Plains Food Bank and distributing it free of charge in low income neighborhoods. His thinking is that people are hungry every day, and has made it his goal to lead The Banquet to a 7 day a week meal ministry.

Mike Baltzer, Member

Project Engineer - Retired

Mike is 73 years old. He is a retired civil engineer of 43 years at Swenson, Hagen & Co. He has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 37 years where he has served on various boards, church council and as congregation president. Mike graduated from NDSU in 1970. He served 1 year in Vietnam. He is one of the original founders of The Banquet and has served on the board for 15 years, the first seven of those as board chair. Mike lives in Bismarck with his wife Rene.

Lisa Chaffee, Member

CPA - Eide Bailly LLP

Lisa is a partner at Eide Bailly LLP and has had the opportunity to serve in several roles in her 27 years, including serving as the head of the Bismarck tax department and Co-chairing the firm's Nonprofit Outsourced and Managed Services. She enjoys working with small business clients, individual clients and many clients in the nonprofit industry.

Lisa is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the North Dakota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Western Dakota Estate Planning Council.

Lisa enjoys volunteering with nonprofit organizations and giving back to her community. In addition to volunteering and serving on the Board of Directors for The Banquet, she also serves on the Board of Directors for Sanford Bismarck and the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber Foundation.

Lisa has been married to her husband Kurt for 25 years and they have two children at home and three grown children. Outside of work, Lisa is involved in New Song Community Church and she enjoys attending her children's various sporting events, dance performances and concerts.

Terri Benson-Holmstrom, Member

Realtor - NextHome Legendary Properties

I am a Flasher native and a Bismarck High Graduate. My career background has been in Radio and TV sales and management starting back in 1983. In 2009 I joined the Dakota Wizards as General Manager/Vice President of Sales/Marketing. In 2012 I received my Real Estate license.

I served on the Board of Directors for our local board of Realtors.

Chad Hasche, Secretary

I am a Bismarck native and a Bismarck Century High school graduate ('85), as well as a Moorhead State College graduate ('90). My career has been in Banking and Finance since 1990, where I have spent 32 years working in the states of Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Minnesota, and North and South Dakota in the automotive finance and banking industries.

I have been married to my wife Marcella for 29 years and we have three grown children. In addition to The Banquet, I'm actively involved with The Dream Center of Bismarck and have previously served on the Bismarck Mandan Apartment Association, Sertoma Club, Red Cross, Bismarck Hockey Boosters, and New Song Church committees and boards in various capacities.

I enjoy spending time at our lake cabin in the summer, playing in the local men's hockey league, and l 'm looking forward to being a grandpa soon!
